Kingdom of God

NOVEMBER 2024

The November sermon series introduced the powerful theme of Kingdom of God, beginning with the message titled "The Kingdom of God is Advancing" by Pastor Dion. This message highlighted how God’s Kingdom extends far beyond the church setting. Drawing from Matthew 6:9-13 (NIV), it focused on the prayer, “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done,” inviting believers to consider the active presence of God’s Kingdom in daily life.

The message distinguished between "Religious Christianity" and "Kingdom Christianity." While Religious Christianity centers on practices like attending services, praying, and reading scripture, Kingdom Christianity goes further, empowering believers to step out and transform the world around them. God’s purpose is for His Kingdom to be visibly manifested on earth, and Kingdom Christianity seeks to bring this transformative impact into our communities and the world.

Week 1: The Gospel of the Kingdom

  • Understanding the difference between religious Christianity and Kingdom Christianity.

  • Religion seeks to take the earth to heaven, while the Kingdom seeks to bring heaven to earth. (Matthew 6:10)

  • Jesus's initial message of the Kingdom of God is repentance and belief. (Mark 1:14-15)

  • Jesus did not preach the Gospel of healing, nor the Gospel of miracles, even though He did many miracles and healed many people. He preached the Gospel of the Kingdom. (Matthew 4:23)

  • The Kingdom of God is an invading, impacting presence that changes the earthly environment and culture.

PRAYER POINTS:

  • Pray that we fully understand the difference between "Religious Christianity" and "Kingdom Christianity". Let us not be satisfied with merely fulfilling religious duties, but instead, go out into the world as ambassadors and representatives of the Kingdom of God.

  • As we embrace our role, pray that we develop a Kingdom mindset—seeking to bring the abundance of heaven’s resources to earth. May we break free from the comfort of simply engaging in religious activities to secure our place in heaven and, instead, focus on transforming the world with a Kingdom mindset.

  • Pray that, with the revelation of the Kingdom of God in an offensive position, we share the Gospel of the Kingdom with boldness and courage, stepping into our calling with confidence.

  • Pray and ask for heaven to come to earth. Let heaven’s resources—healing, financial prosperity, wisdom, and prophetic revelations bring freedom and transformation, not only in our own lives but also in the lives of those we reach with the Gospel of the Kingdom.

  • We lift this nation's critical election in prayer, that people will elect leaders based on biblical, Kingdom values. Pray that God’s children will be motivated to exercise their civic responsibilities as the Ekklesia, the governing body of God’s people, by electing godly leaders who reflect the values of the Kingdom.

Week 2: Being a Citizen of the Kingdom of God

  • “For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 14:17)

  • Living a kingdom-focused life, not just a religious one.

  • The importance of being tough and standing up for what is right. (Haggai 2:4-5)

  • Preachers: Do not entertain our people, empower them!

  • Be strong and of good courage. (Joshua 1:6-7,9)

PRAYER POINTS:

  • Pray that we embrace a new mindset of the Kingdom of God, one that goes beyond seeking to meet our natural needs. Instead, may we pursue the righteousness, peace, and joy of the Holy Spirit, experiencing the ultimate fulfillment of living in the abundance of life that the Kingdom brings.

  • Ask for revelation on how to live a "Kingdom-focused" life, rather than just fulfilling religious duties. Pray that we may walk in a deeper understanding of what it means to live in this current season of our lives as the children of God.

  • Pray for our leaders to receive a fresh revelation of the Kingdom’s mindset. May they be empowered to equip and inspire God’s people to do the work of the Kingdom, advancing His will on earth.

  • Pray that we earnestly seek to represent the heart of God, becoming extensions of His love to those in our sphere of influence, bringing His light to the world around us.

Week 3: Kingdom Living

  • The Kingdom of God is a place of life, joy, purpose, and authority.

  • Embrace citizenship in the Kingdom of God and live a life of dominion and impact.

  • Being citizens of the Kingdom of God, not just Christians by birthright or religious affiliation. (Ephesians 2:19)

  • There is a distinction between true believers, pseudo-believers, and unbelievers.

  • Give an offering of praise and a living sacrifice to the King.

PRAYER POINTS:

  • Pray that as our understanding deepens, we will fully embrace and act upon the teachings of living in the Kingdom of God, which is filled with joy and peace that transcends our earthly experiences. May we bring this peace and joy into our everyday lives, reflecting the Kingdom of God here on earth.

  • Pray that we fully embrace our true citizenship in the Kingdom of God, so that we may influence our surroundings with the truth of the Gospel. May our influence help set people free from the lies and deceit of the enemy.

  • Pray that our understanding will free us from being mere "pseudo-believers" or even “unbelievers”, those who doubt and are easily swayed. Instead, may we become true, steadfast believers, firmly anchored in the Gospel of truth.

  • Pray that we will continually cultivate a thankful heart, grateful for what Jesus has done at the cross to set us free from our sins. May we always gladly offer a sacrifice of praise to our King Jesus in every aspect of our lives.

Week 4: Kingdom’s Opportunity

  • In the midst of shaking and chaos, “… this will be your opportunity to tell them about Me.” (Luke 21:13, NLT)

  • Jesus preached the Gospel of the Kingdom, not just salvation or a feel-good message.

  • Citizenship in the Kingdom of God is not based on religious practices but on being born again and representing the King's government.

  • The Kingdom of God is both a present reality and a future hope, encompassing God's will being done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10)

  • “And this Gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14)

PRAYER POINTS:

  • Pray that we do not focus on the turmoil around us, for the Kingdom of God is unshakable! We can find peace that surpasses our understanding, enabling us to seize the opportunity to share the Gospel of the Kingdom and preach Jesus to everyone in our sphere of influence.

  • Pray for boldness and courage to proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom. Pray that our mission for sharing the Gospel extends beyond our own salvation, but we are also called to disciple others and usher people into the Kingdom of God.

  • Pray for a deeper understanding of our citizenship in the Kingdom of God, recognizing that our responsibilities go beyond simply practicing religion by going to church, reading the Bible, and praying for each other; but we are also representatives of God’s Kingdom-government, tasked with bringing order, truth, and justice into a chaotic world.

  • Pray that we feel an earnest urge and unwavering commitment to fulfill our calling by preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom and witnessing to all people and nations.
