Partnering With God Through Prayer

Watch Ps Dion’s preaching here

We often use and hear the phrase, “God is in control”, yet the truth of the matter is that “God is in control, but He put man to be in charge!” Genesis 1:26 (NKJV) establishes this fact, “Then God said, let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness let them have dominion over . . .” Dominion means ruling or controlling over. God has appointed man to be the steward over the earth although He owns everything on this earth (Psalm 24:1-3), He appointed man to be the steward and manage the earth.

Pastor Dion Kurniadi reminded us that the enemy has been successful in infiltrating our minds so that we become lazy in our prayer because they know the power of our prayers. John Wesley stated, "God does nothing except in response to believing prayers.”

Saint Augustine stated, “Without God, man cannot and without man, God will not!” God prefers having a partnership with us. There are several miracles Pastor Dion pointed out in his sermon:

  1. Turning water into wine – John 2:1-11

  2. Healing the centurion’s servant – Matt 8:5-13

  3. Healing of woman with the issue of blood – Matt 9:20-222

  4. The resurrection of Jairus’ daughter – Mark 5:22-24

There was one thing in common with all of the miracles Jesus’ performed above; each one of them asked Jesus to perform the miracles for them. We need to ask Jesus whenever we need miracles and breakthroughs in our lives. The way to ask is through our prayers. Myles Munroe said, “Prayer is earthly license for heavenly interference.” We need to ask and give God permission to work through us and to change us.

In the sermon, Pastor Dion also discussed in-depth about the story of Elijah and the drought from 1 Kings 17-18. What happened at the end of the 3 ½ years before the drought ended? Why did God not send the rain, even though He himself promised for the rain? God sent the rain only after Elijah prayed 7 times. There is another dimension of prayer that involves us partnering with God. Three things Elijah did when he partnered with God:

  1. He heard His voice

  2. He declared the words he heard

  3. He prayed until breakthrough

When God calls us, we need to respond. What happens in the supernatural will manifest in the natural. In Matthew 18:18-20, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them”

Personal Prayer Points:

  • Pray for the desire to partner with God through prayer and intercession

  • Pray for the desire to hear God’s voice and obey His voice

  • Pray and declare the words given by God

  • Pray without ceasing until breakthrough happens

Prayer Points for the Current Russia & Ukraine Conflict (Taken from Prayer Alert from Cindy Jacobs):

  • Pray that an “axis of evil” will not form between Russia. China, and Iran, that will hurt all of their nations. God loves the people of these countries, and He is not willing that any should perish

  • Pray for wisdom for the leaders and decision-makers of the nations.

  • Pray for Ukraine, as it has been reported there is a “kill list” of diplomats and other influencers if their nation is taken over.

  • Pray this war will cease!

*UPDATE: Although Pastor Paul’s flight to Dallas was cancelled twice due to storms, The Kingdom Government Consultation was very strategic. It was invitation-only and was attended by apostles, prophets, seasoned intercessors, and government officials from the U.S. and other nations. This consultation was an “eye-opener” for Pastor Paul on what is currently happening in our nation and the world from a biblical point of view. Thank you so much for your prayers!

Let’s partner with God through our prayers!
