21-Day Prayer & Fasting

21-Day Prayer & Fasting: A Time of Devotion and Renewal

Join us in a 21-day journey of prayer and fasting, humbling ourselves before the Lord as we seek Him with renewed focus and commitment. This prayer & fasting offers an opportunity to reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and draw closer to Him for guidance, strength, and spiritual renewal. We will do the Daniel fasting, which is based on the fasting experiences taken from Daniel, as described in the Book of Daniel in the Bible. It typically involves abstaining from certain types of food, usually meat, sweets, and other indulgent foods, and focusing on a diet primarily consisting of fruits, vegetables, grains, and water.

Why We Fast?
We fast to deepen our connection with God through prayer. Without prayer, fasting loses its significance. Just as Moses, Elijah, Paul, and Jesus fasted to draw nearer to God, we must also engage in fasting to align ourselves with His will. Fasting is a voluntary choice to pursue God on a deeper level, acknowledging Him even in moments of hunger and weakness. It serves as a discipline that strengthens our character and helps us resist the temptations of the flesh. By committing to prayer and fasting, we follow the example set by Jesus and draw closer to God, preventing spiritual drift and cultivating a deeper relationship with Him.

When You Should Not Fast?
Fasting is not advisable in certain circumstances, including for pregnant or nursing women, individuals with severe debilitation, or those with serious medical conditions. Additionally, children under twelve are discouraged from fasting. Certain medications may also interact with fasting, so consulting a physician beforehand is essential.

How to Participate

  • We will follow the Daniel Fast, but please ensure it aligns with your health needs. Feel free to adjust as needed based on your circumstances.

  • Set aside time daily for prayer and Scripture reflection, using the DEVOTIONAL GUIDE.

  • Meditate on Jesus’ sacrifice and let His love guide your prayers.

Daily Themes and Resources
Throughout these 21 days, we’ll share daily Scriptures, prayer prompts, and encouragement to help you remain steadfast and connected to God.

Let’s Seek Him Together
As we join in prayer and fasting, we hold to the promise of 2 Chronicles 7:14: "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

This journey is one of surrender and hope as we fully turn our hearts to God. Together, let’s grow closer to Him and seek His will for our lives, our church, and our community.
